Start of the events season at Dechesne & Boertje!
Despite all the negative publicity in the press about the economic downturn, the 17-strong team at Dechesne & Boertje spent all last week organizing a large number of fantastic events.
It all started on Saturday 3 September with a sun-drenched party to celebrate the 65th anniversary of Nyenrode. 1,400 students, former students, staff and lecturers enjoyed a spectacular party in a Parade-style setting. As well as being entertained by dozens of professional acts, the guests were free wander in and out of marquees where Nyenrodians were providing the entertainment. The party was dubbed 'Remarkable Nyenrode', and highlights included performances by Xander de Buisonjé, Ali B and the Nyenrode band consisting of former students.
During the same weekend, Dechesne & Boertje helped the ONVZ insurance company and Rabobank Gouwestreek with their family events in The Dolphinarium and 'Rabobank Gouwestad' (Landal Esonstad) respectively.
Monday 5 September saw Dechesne & Boertje working with SITA and Nedvang on the opening of the first Dutch sorting plant for plastic packaging waste. State Secretary Joop Atsma took care of the official part of the opening ceremony.
In the weeks that followed, Dechesne & Boertje assisted various companies with their events, including De Goudse Verzekeringen with the National Conference on Absenteeism in Spant!, BP with its annual 'Energize!' party in Taets Art Gallery and Mediq with a day for suppliers in its own premises, entitled 'The Art of Care Business'.
Last but not least, Dechesne & Boertje was there to help the University of Amsterdam organize an international conference for almost 600 entrepreneur members of the Entrepreneur Organization. Entrepreneurs from across the globe were in Amsterdam between 14 and 18 September to discuss how best to contribute to an ever-changing world. The theme of the conference was 'Change the World', and delegates were inspired by international top speakers including Kofi Annan, Nobel Prize-winner Dr. Muhammad Yunus, scenario planner Peter Schwartz, Julian Assange of WikiLeaks fame, Ricardo Semler and Peter Bakker. In the evening under the professional guidance of Dechesne & Boertje, large-scale events were organized in the Westergasfabriek, the Oude Kerk, the NH Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky and dinners at the homes of 25 entrepreneurs. Comments on the event included: 'best university ever', 'you raised the bar at every level' and 'you set a new standard'. The event concluded with the joint signing of The Amsterdam Entrepreneurs' Manifesto for Change by all the entrepreneurs.
